The Directorate of Moral Guidance and Public Relations at the Kuwait Army announced that the Naval Force will perform live-fire exercises across three days starting Tuesday. Drills will run daily from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. through Thursday, the directorate stated in its notice. The advance warning forms part of standard procedure to coordinate military training with civilian maritime activity.

Exercises will take place in two established firing ranges within Kuwaiti waters. One zone begins 16.5 nautical miles east of Ras Al-Julaiah and extends toward Qaru Island. The second lies 6 nautical miles east of Ras Al-Zour and stretches to Umm Al-Maradim Island, according to the directorate’s coordinates.

The announcement specifically urges citizens, residents, fishermen, boat owners and recreational sea users to stay away from these areas for the full duration of each day’s training. Officials emphasised that entry into the zones could endanger lives and interfere with scheduled drills. The directive applies uniformly across the announced period to maintain safety for all parties.

The Directorate of Moral Guidance and Public Relations framed the restrictions as essential precautions intended to protect both military personnel and civilians operating nearby. It called for complete compliance with the instructions until all exercises conclude on July 9. Similar safety appeals have accompanied past naval training activities in the same locations.

The directorate issued a comparable notification in June 2026 for live-fire drills on June 23 and 24 that followed the identical maritime boundaries and time windows. Kuwait News Agency has carried multiple earlier statements from the same body outlining routine naval exercises in these waters. Such announcements occur regularly as part of the armed forces’ scheduled training calendar.

In December 2025 the directorate similarly alerted the public through Kuwait News Agency to three days of naval live-fire exercises from Dec. 9 to 11 using the same firing ranges east of Ras Al-Julaiah and Ras Al-Zour. Those drills also ran during daylight hours with parallel warnings to sea-goers. The pattern reflects the navy’s ongoing use of these designated areas for maintaining operational readiness.
