The owner notified Salmiya police after discovering that his vehicle had been taken from the parking area of the apartment building where he lives. A security source who spoke to Al-Anba described the car as an American-made 2026 model valued at around 4,500 dinars. The source added that criminal detectives carried out investigations that succeeded in pinpointing a known individual as responsible for the theft.

Following that breakthrough the Public Prosecution instructed that the file be recorded as a felony theft rather than a lesser offense. The security source told Al-Anba the matter was first entered at the Salmiya police station before being transferred to specialized authorities. The referral ensures that all necessary legal steps can now proceed without delay.

The outcome reflects the emphasis placed by Kuwaiti security agencies on rapid use of available evidence in property crimes. A Ministry of Interior assessment released earlier in the year indicated that improved coordination between patrol units and investigation teams has raised clearance rates for such incidents in urban governorates. The source noted that residential parking areas remain a focus for preventive measures across Hawally Governorate.

Salmiya has featured in several recent security operations targeting theft and vandalism according to repeated statements from the Hawally Security Directorate. Local police have employed surveillance reviews and community reporting to address patterns of opportunistic crime in the district. The directorate continues to urge building residents to install adequate lighting and avoid leaving valuables unsecured in common spaces.

This case forms part of sustained efforts by the Interior Ministry to curb vehicle-related offenses through both enforcement and public awareness. Ministry data compiled from prior campaigns shows that prompt reporting combined with forensic tools significantly shortens investigation timelines. Officials have consistently called on expatriate and citizen communities alike to exercise greater caution with car keys and parking routines.

No further details about the suspect have been made public while inquiries continue. The security source confirmed that the identification rested on multiple strands of evidence gathered by the investigations team. Competent authorities are expected to conclude their review and prepare the file for any subsequent court proceedings.
