The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced scheduled maintenance on the Doha Water Distribution Complex that will begin at 9 pm on Thursday, October 15, and continue for 10 hours. Water flow may be reduced in the areas of Ardiya, Sabah Al-Nasser, Firdous and Ishbiliya during this window, according to the ministry. The ministry urged customers to cooperate and store adequate supplies in advance while technical teams complete the required work on the facility.
According to the ministry, the operation forms part of routine procedures to sustain network efficiency and avoid larger-scale disruptions. Residents experiencing notable interruptions or cuts should contact the emergency hotline at 152, the ministry stated. A comparable maintenance exercise earlier this year at the Shuwaikh Pumping Station produced similar low-pressure warnings across multiple districts including Kuwait City, Mansouriya and Hawally.
The ministry has conducted several such targeted interventions across its distribution network in recent months, each focused on specific complexes and pumping stations to maintain overall system reliability. In the October 15 case, the work centers on the Doha facility, which serves a cluster of western residential zones. Officials noted that completing these upgrades during off-peak nighttime hours minimizes the overall impact on daily consumption patterns.
Customers in the four affected districts received advance notice through the ministry’s public statement released on October 14. The announcement explicitly thanked the public for its understanding during the maintenance period, which concludes at 7 am on Friday. Similar notices have repeatedly directed users to the unified call center at 152 for any service issues that arise.
The ministry’s latest advisory aligns with its established practice of issuing detailed alerts before infrastructure work that could influence fresh water supply. Past operations, including one at Abdullah Port Tanks that impacted East Ahmadi and nearby industrial zones, followed identical patterns of pre-notification and post-maintenance support. Residents requiring further clarification can continue to use the 152 hotline, which the ministry positions as the primary response channel for water-related matters.
