The Ministry of Social Affairs announced on June 25 that the Central Aid Platform has facilitated donations exceeding KD 36 million since its launch 18 months ago. Iman Al-Enezi, assistant undersecretary for social care and development at the ministry, confirmed the total, stressing that every dinar has supported aid initiatives within Kuwait rather than external causes. The platform’s design funnels requests according to their nature, sending family sponsorship applications to dedicated organizations and medical needs to specialized associations.

According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, this centralized system was introduced to organize charitable work, avoid duplication of aid and guarantee that support reaches the most deserving cases. Al-Enezi said the increasing donation amounts demonstrate the platform’s growing acceptance among Kuwaiti donors who appreciate its structured methodology. The ministry requires all philanthropic contributions to pass through the official channel, prohibiting direct outreach to individuals or groups outside the framework.

Ministry records indicate the platform became operational in December 2024 as part of digital transformation initiatives aimed at modernizing social welfare delivery. Undersecretary Dr Khaled Al-Ajmi previously characterized it as a key step that builds a unified beneficiary database while upholding privacy standards and enabling secure electronic processing. The development received technical input from Al-Najat Charity, reinforcing partnerships between government and private charitable entities, a June 10 ministry briefing showed.

Al-Enezi’s confirmation aligns with earlier ministry assessments that projected improved efficiency from the platform’s launch. Figures from comparable campaigns managed by the Ministry of Social Affairs, such as those for debt relief, have similarly shown millions raised through coordinated digital means. The domestic focus has helped address local needs in areas ranging from family support to healthcare access.

The Ministry of Social Affairs has not released a detailed breakdown of individual projects funded by the KD 36 million but noted a consistent upward trend in both donation volume and aid requests. Officials highlighted that the system has minimized administrative overlaps that once plagued fragmented charity efforts. This coordinated model strengthens Kuwait’s overall social safety net, according to the assistant undersecretary.

Central Statistical Bureau data places charitable contributions as a notable element of national social spending, a context that has amplified the platform’s role in providing transparent tracking. The ministry’s latest update on the 18-month performance reflected continued growth in user engagement since the initial rollout. Al-Enezi pointed to the platform’s success in directing resources without redundancy as evidence of its operational value.
