Faisal Al-Ansari, director of the Commercial Control Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, outlined the discussions in a press statement. The two sides focused on strengthening coordination for inspection campaigns across the country. They explored mechanisms to ensure the interior ministry’s participation would streamline procedures and better support the inspection teams. Al-Ansari emphasized the need for this collaboration to effectively track down violators in different areas.

The statement indicated that strict measures would be applied to those found committing grave commercial violations. These measures could extend to immediate deportation in line with legal procedures. Such actions aim to deter malpractice in the marketplace according to the department director.

Al-Ansari reviewed the operational mechanism of the Joint Operations Unit during the meeting. This unit oversees and monitors the activities of 71 cooperative societies in the country. It also supervises food supply centers responsible for distributing subsidized food items to citizens.

Work is progressing to connect the Ministry of Interior to the Joint Operations Unit. The linkage would allow for monitoring of the security aspects of the campaigns. This integration is expected to enhance the overall effectiveness of oversight efforts.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry recognized the contributions of its interior counterparts. Those honored included Assistant Director General for Criminal Investigation Affairs in the Governorates Brigadier Abdulwahab Al-Badr. Also receiving recognition were Director for Investigations in Hawally Governorate Colonel Jamal Al-Faraj and Director General of the Capital Security Directorate Brigadier Abdul Aziz Al-Omar. The honors acknowledged their role in supporting recent inspection operations.

The ministry has maintained an active inspection schedule in recent periods. Ministry data from the previous year showed more than 1,300 violations recorded during July campaigns alone. These figures underscore the scale of monitoring required to maintain market integrity across Kuwait.

The Commercial Control Department continues to prioritize consumer protection and price stability. Earlier statements by Al-Ansari to the Kuwait News Agency highlighted full adherence to pricing guidelines in various sectors. Such efforts form part of a sustained push to safeguard the local economy and ensure fair trading practices.
