The Ministry of Interior announced that the General Directorate of Emergency Police conducted a comprehensive security campaign throughout the country as part of ongoing efforts to maintain security, strictly enforce the law, apprehend wanted individuals and violators, and take legal action against them. The operation resulted in the execution of 33 arrest warrants, according to the ministry. It also produced the arrest of 27 individuals with expired residency permits, 12 who failed to present valid identification documents, and two involved in criminal and civil cases.

Traffic enforcement formed a major component of the campaign, with the emergency police recording 1,300 violations, the ministry reported. Officers issued 26 citations for excessive noise, impounded 26 vehicles for various infractions, and referred one individual to the traffic police station. Fifteen wanted vehicles were seized and three cases related to drugs, alcohol, and bladed weapons were documented during the operation.

Ministry of Interior figures from 2023 to 2025 show 9,754 drug-related cases were recorded, involving 11,136 accused. The three cases identified in this campaign add to that cumulative enforcement record. In September 2025, the ministry announced that security campaigns across all governorates had resulted in 638 arrests.

The ministry affirmed the continuation of security campaigns in various areas to instill security and traffic discipline, pursue wanted individuals and violators, and reduce behaviors that are against the law. These actions support the maintenance of security and public order. They also guarantee the safety of citizens and residents, according to the ministry statement.

The General Directorate of Emergency Police operates as a frontline unit within the Ministry of Interior for such rapid-response initiatives. Its latest campaign on August 15 combined fugitive apprehension with broad regulatory enforcement across residency and traffic sectors. Previous operations have followed a similar model of coordinated actions to address multiple violation categories in single deployments.
