A security source at the Ministry of Interior said the operations room received a burglary complaint from the doctor after she returned from work and found the gold items missing from her bedroom. Forensic experts were immediately sent to the residence to collect fingerprints along with any other physical evidence at the scene. The source added that initial steps also included checks on nearby surveillance systems to determine how the intruder or intruders gained access.

According to the security source, the doctor described most of the stolen pieces as gold accumulated over time as a savings vehicle while prices for the metal kept rising. She offered investigators no specific accusation against any individual and named no potential suspects among those familiar with her home. The source noted that the report left unclear whether the jewelry had been placed inside a safe or stored elsewhere inside the bedroom.

The security source indicated detectives have expanded their inquiries to include the doctor’s circle of associates and employees while continuing to analyze all gathered material. No arrests have been made and the identity of those responsible has not been established. Efforts remain centered on tracing the missing valuables through local markets and other channels commonly used in property crimes.

Hawally Governorate has featured in several gold theft cases over recent months with authorities pursuing similar residential break-ins. In February 2026 security sources detailed the arrest of a building caretaker who confessed to forcing open a safe and stealing gold valued at KD 750 from an apartment in the same governorate before selling the items. That case followed established patterns in which individuals with access to properties become subjects of investigation.

The latest incident adds to a sequence of property crimes targeting gold holdings that local outlets have tracked through the past year. Gold’s portability and resale value have made it a repeated focus for such thefts across multiple governorates. The Ministry of Interior source confirmed the current investigation continues without a fixed timeline for resolution as evidence processing advances.
