The Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate Security Directorate carried out the large-scale campaign in the area known locally as Al-Qurain Markets on August 30, 2026, in coordination with the General Traffic Department, the General Department of Criminal Investigation, Kuwait Municipality, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition and the Public Authority for Manpower. Teams from each participating body addressed distinct aspects of regulatory compliance during the operation that targeted both moving and fixed violations in the industrial zone. The directorate reported that all actions taken aligned with standard enforcement protocols applied across similar campaigns in other governorates.
According to the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate Security Directorate, officers issued 189 traffic violations while placing 37 stickers on abandoned vehicles throughout the area. Two vehicles were impounded specifically for traffic infractions and one additional vehicle was seized under a standing judicial warrant as part of the same sweep. These vehicle-related measures formed a visible element of the operation intended to address immediate safety and compliance concerns on site.
The directorate’s briefing placed the municipal violations at 42 recorded by Kuwait Municipality alongside 34 issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and 16 linked to food safety standards under the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition. Such breakdowns reflect the multi-agency structure that assigns enforcement responsibilities according to each body’s legal mandate during joint actions. A Ministry of Interior assessment of comparable operations conducted in recent months showed that commercial and municipal infractions frequently surface in industrial zones where licensing and operational standards overlap.
In the area of detentions, the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate Security Directorate reported that six individuals were arrested for residency law violations while 22 others were detained for expired permits. Six wanted persons connected to separate cases were also apprehended along with one individual lacking proper identification and one found in possession of alcohol. The directorate added that these arrests occurred concurrently with the violation issuances during the coordinated push through the markets.
The Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate Security Directorate stated that legal and administrative measures were applied to all identified violators and arrested individuals, with cases referred to the relevant authorities for any required follow-up proceedings. Each participating agency handled documentation and processing within its area of responsibility before the operation concluded. This referral process ensures that both minor infractions and more serious breaches receive appropriate attention under Kuwaiti regulations.
The Ministry of Interior reported that a similar security campaign executed in Mahboula on August 28 produced 790 traffic violations in addition to the arrest of 109 wanted individuals, 62 persons with expired residency permits and further detentions for identification and intoxication offenses. That earlier action, which took place in Ahmadi Governorate, followed the same multi-agency model employed two days later in Abu Futaira. Such repeated operations illustrate the pattern of regular enforcement drives maintained by governorate security directorates throughout the country.
