Security sources stated that the two men did not disclose where they obtained the liquor during initial questioning. The lack of information on the supply source prompted the transfer to narcotics specialists for deeper examination. Authorities will assess whether the possession aligned strictly with personal consumption or indicated additional factors under Kuwaiti regulations.
The Ministry of Interior has detailed comparable enforcement actions in recent weeks as part of broader campaigns against prohibited substances. In operations around the same period the Criminal Security Sector arrested three suspects in separate cases across Hawally and Salmiya where officers seized a combined 1,560 bottles of imported alcohol along with cash proceeds believed linked to sales. One case in Hawally involved 12 bottles and 320 dinars while the Salmiya action recovered 1,548 bottles according to the ministry’s account.
