The Ministry of Interior detailed the arrests of two Kuwaiti citizens, one Egyptian national, two Bangladeshi nationals, one Indian national, two Nepalese nationals and three Bedoun individuals, all apprehended in separate operations across the country. According to the ministry, the Criminal Security Sector led the actions through the General Directorate for Drug Control with the explicit aim of disrupting both trafficking and abuse networks. The ministry’s statement placed the focus on field coordination that targeted possession incidents involving multiple controlled substances at once.

Ministry figures show the operations produced seizures of approximately 150 grams of liquid methamphetamine along with 43 grams of methamphetamine, 202 grams of heroin and 41 grams of hashish. The inventory also included one gram of cocaine, around 70 milliliters of liquid synthetic cannabinoids and 507 Captagon pills in addition to 80 grams of Lyrica with 210 capsules of the same drug. Two rolled hashish cigarettes completed the narcotic tally compiled by the directorate.

Security teams additionally recovered six bottles of liquor together with three cans containing alcohol plus two digital weighing scales used in distribution activities, the ministry reported. A firearm, 39 rounds of live ammunition and one magazine were confiscated in one of the linked cases, according to the same official accounting. The ministry data places the cash proceeds from trafficking at 290 Kuwaiti dinars found during the searches.

These actions fit within a measurable reduction in drug smuggling and trafficking recorded by the General Department for Drug Control, which documented a drop in smuggling cases from 102 in the first half of 2025 to 15 in the corresponding period of 2026. Brig. Gen. Mohammad Qabazard, director general of the department, told KUNA that trafficking cases likewise fell from 354 to 184 over the same timeframe. The department assessment found the new anti-narcotics law and pre-emptive operations contributed to higher street prices and reduced local availability of several substances.

All 11 suspects along with the seized materials were referred to competent authorities for legal proceedings, the ministry stated. The operations formed part of the Criminal Security Sector’s routine enforcement that maintains pressure on supply lines entering through various channels. Public records from the ministry continue to track such enforcement metrics as indicators of overall campaign effectiveness.
