The Ministry of Interior has carried out a major security campaign in the Saad Al-Abdullah area resulting in 151 violators being netted. The operation formed part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to enforce traffic laws and residency regulations across Kuwait governorates. Supervision for the campaign came from Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major General Hamed Al-Dawas and Major General Hamad Al-Munaifi.
According to the ministry the campaign focused on identifying individuals engaged in illegal activities and those in violation of labor and residency rules. Those netted during the operation have been referred to the competent authorities for the necessary legal measures. The ministry has indicated that such campaigns are part of a wider strategy to maintain public order.
Al Rai newspaper has reported on similar operations in the area that have yielded comparable results in previous months. One campaign in February 2025 by the Traffic and Operations Sector produced 1,789 traffic violations and the arrest of 21 individuals on various charges the ministry reported at the time. That effort also saw the seizure of 14 vehicles and the participation of female police officers.
The Ministry of Interior announced in July 2025 that a campaign in several areas including Jahra resulted in 153 arrests for residency and labor violations. That operation was directed by Major General Ali Al-Adwani and targeted densely populated districts. The results were part of a grace period expiration for violators to correct their status.
In early September 2026 the ministry reported a campaign in the Capital Governorate that led to 257 arrests violations and related security measures. The operation involved checkpoints and the closure of a shop selling spoiled meat in coordination with the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition. All cases were processed according to the applicable laws.
A Times Kuwait report from August 2025 placed the number of drug-related arrests from the ministry’s campaigns above 3,200 since the beginning of intensified efforts. The report also noted the revocation of nearly 50,000 fraudulent citizenships by that point. These figures provide context for the scale of the security initiatives that include the Saad Al-Abdullah campaign.
