The Public Authority of Civil Aviation refuted claims that an airline planned to launch transit services at Kuwait International Airport beginning October 1. Spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi told the Kuwait News Agency that the reports were inaccurate and no notifications had been issued to any carriers about resuming such operations. Al-Rajhi urged airlines to confirm all regulatory decisions directly with the authority before publicizing schedules or services to avoid spreading misinformation.
According to the authority, inaccurate announcements risk creating confusion for passengers and the broader public. Al-Rajhi added that any developments on transit flights would only be shared through the body’s approved official channels. The clarification follows an announcement from Jazeera Airways about plans to restart transit and connecting services through Terminal 5.
Jazeera Airways had informed commercial partners during a meeting that it would resume transit options from October 1, enabling connections across its network of more than 45 destinations. These routes include links between the Indian subcontinent and Saudi Arabia, Africa and GCC countries, and other segments within its system. The carrier opened bookings for transit itineraries the following day after detailing the step as a key milestone in its post-May 2026 recovery.
Kuwait International Airport resumed limited operations in May 2026 following a suspension that began February 28, 2026, amid regional geopolitical tensions.
