The Ministry of Interior said in a statement that the General Department of Emergency Police conducted a campaign in Jahra governorate under the supervision of Brigadier General Hemlan Al-Hemlan. The operation resulted in the issuance of 103 traffic violations while officers arrested 52 individuals on various charges. All arrestees were referred to competent authorities for legal proceedings following the sweep that targeted regulatory and security infractions.
According to the ministry’s figures the arrests included 15 people for expired residency permits and 15 others wanted on security grounds. Officers also detained 12 individuals lacking personal identification documents in addition to nine reported as absconders. The campaign further led to the recovery of seven wanted vehicles and one additional fugitive the ministry reported.
The ministry described the Jahra operation as part of its continuous field efforts to strengthen security and enforce compliance across Kuwait. A Kuwait Times report on an August 2026 ministry statement detailed a similar joint inspection in Jahra and other areas that resulted in 56 arrests for residency and labor violations. Such repeated campaigns have become a regular feature of the ministry’s strategy to address illegal residency and related offenses in industrial and residential zones.
Brigadier General Hemlan Al-Hemlan directed the planning and implementation of the drive as head of the emergency police department. Coordination among security units enabled the operation to cover multiple violation categories within a single campaign. The ministry has maintained that these actions contribute directly to public order and regulatory adherence in governorates like Jahra.
A parallel campaign in Farwaniya governorate announced in the same statement netted 25 absconders along with 16 individuals holding expired residency permits. That operation additionally identified eight labor law violators and three people with expired visas according to the ministry. The dual drives illustrate the systematic approach authorities have adopted to tackle violations across different regions on the same day.
The Public Authority for Manpower has partnered with the Ministry of Interior in previous comparable operations focused on industrial zones where violations frequently cluster. Ministry data from multiple campaigns throughout 2026 consistently highlight residency breaches and outstanding warrants as primary targets. Officials have indicated that enforcement will continue in order to sustain pressure on non-compliant activities.
