Security sources reported that the Nigerian worker presented himself at the Farwaniya police station to file the formal complaint after the alleged incident with his sponsor. The case has been documented and transferred to the investigations department where officers will question both parties and collect supporting evidence. Police have not disclosed the precise circumstances of the alleged assault or the identities of those involved pending the outcome of the probe. The complaint surfaces amid heightened scrutiny of sponsor-expatriate relations across the governorate.

The Nigerian embassy had previously requested a suspension of deployments until protections for its citizens could be strengthened the ministry’s press release noted. Such measures reflect persistent concerns about treatment of Nigerian nationals employed under the kafala sponsorship system in the Gulf state.
