Al-Shreian commended the healthcare teams for their rapid response to the casualties.
The drone attacks struck Kuwaiti Army camps and installations early that same day, prompting an immediate emergency response from defense units. The ministry described the strikes as Iranian aggression. Air defenses engaged the incoming threats even as some naval force members sustained injuries. Those wounded received prompt evacuation to specialized medical centers for ongoing treatment.
Al-Shreian wished the soldiers a speedy recovery during his meetings with them. He affirmed the armed forces’ complete commitment to their support and wellbeing. The deputy chief joined the discussions with both the patients and the medical staff. The ministry statement highlighted the importance of such visits in maintaining morale.
These drone strikes form part of a series of retaliatory actions by Iran against targets in Kuwait that began in late February 2026. A March strike on a U.S. logistics base at Port Shuaiba killed six American soldiers after warnings were reportedly ignored by commanders. Kuwaiti authorities have reported intercepting most incoming missiles and drones across multiple assaults while sustaining casualties at various sites.
The army chief’s visit follows a similar tour conducted the previous day by Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah to several Kuwait Naval Force locations. The minister checked on the condition of the injured personnel and reviewed their medical care, a Defense Ministry statement said. That tour came after the ministry placed the overall toll from recent strikes at one fatality and 63 injuries. Officials continue to coordinate enhanced security measures across military installations in response to the threats.
