Kuwait City police on Sunday arrested a Bangladeshi expatriate over a KD 24,000 debt warrant following a suspicious vehicle check in Shuwaikh, security sources reported. The 37-year-old man, listed as (A.A.) and born in 1989, was with his Kuwaiti wife at the time. Officers referred him to the proper authorities after confirming the warrant.
Security sources said the patrol in the Shuwaikh area near the United Nations Roundabout spotted the vehicle and decided to conduct an inspection due to suspicious behavior. The officers requested identification from the driver and the passenger, leading to the discovery of the active warrant for the unpaid debt. Once identified, the Bangladeshi national was apprehended without resistance and transported to a police station. The sources added that the Kuwaiti wife was not implicated in the case and was allowed to leave after providing statements.
The arrest reflects ongoing vehicle inspection campaigns by capital police that frequently uncover individuals with pending financial or legal obligations. Many warrants originate from court rulings on unpaid loans or commercial liabilities that remain unresolved. Following the stop, the suspect was transferred to relevant judicial bodies responsible for executing financial warrants.
