The Kuwait Fire Force carried out an inspection campaign Tuesday in the Fahaeel Industrial Area and East Ahmadi Industrial Area of Ahmadi Governorate to verify compliance with fire safety and prevention requirements at buildings and establishments, a force statement said. The campaign resulted in administrative closure warnings and notices issued to 201 facilities and shops along with the immediate closure of 23 facilities and shops that had not met the approved conditions. The force statement listed inadequate safety measures as the basis for enforcement at the affected sites.
A Kuwait Fire Force annual report documented 1,684 fires responded to nationwide in the covered year with Ahmadi Governorate recording the highest share at 25.6 percent of incidents, the official document indicated. The same report identified electrical short circuits as the origin of 35.55 percent of fires across Kuwait. Ahmadi also accounted for 561 fire area responses and led in rescue operations with 1,018 calls, the figures showed.
In a May campaign the Kuwait Fire Force closed 57 facilities and issued 562 warnings across the Capital, Farwaniya and Ahmadi governorates, a force announcement stated. An August operation in East Ahmadi produced 50 closures and 122 warnings, according to a separate Kuwait Fire Force briefing covered by Times Kuwait. These actions have formed part of repeated enforcement rounds in industrial zones.
The Kuwait Fire Force has coordinated such inspections with the Ministry of Electricity and Water, the Public Authority for Industry, the Environment Public Authority and the Kuwait Municipality in multiple instances, earlier statements from the force have noted. The campaigns review both fire-specific equipment and broader licensing standards at each location. Establishments receive defined periods to address cited violations before further measures apply.
The Kuwait Fire Force maintains records that placed the total rescue operations at 3,532 for the reported year with Ahmadi contributing the largest volume, the annual compilation detailed. Data from the force has consistently highlighted industrial and commercial sites as priority areas for preventive checks given the concentration of hazards. Tuesday’s campaign in Ahmadi followed the established pattern of unannounced and scheduled visits across governorates.
