The Kuwait Ministry of Interior announced on August 24, 2026 that it had recaptured a fugitive suspect who escaped from custody while being investigated for assisting a person to leave the country illegally. The individual escaped during the custody period prior to completion of all investigation procedures. The ministry formed an immediate investigation committee following directives from First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah to determine the circumstances of the escape and to identify any responsible individuals for legal action.
The suspect was apprehended again after security forces carried out intensified search, investigation and security operations. The ministry stressed that the recapture was achieved through continuous pursuit efforts. This development ensures the suspect will now face the full legal proceedings related to the original case.
The Ministry of Interior warned the public against harboring, concealing or assisting wanted or fugitive persons. Those who engage in such conduct will be subject to legal accountability, the ministry stated. The warning aims to deter any support for individuals evading justice.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior said the fugitives were tracked down and arrested by special security forces and the police’s air wing before being returned to the concerned authorities.
In that incident the ministry stated that the locations of the fugitives were identified and they were arrested. It further noted that the security of society is a red line and justice will reach anyone who attempts to evade legal accountability.
