The Kuwait Volleyball Association has certified 30 administrators upon completion of its Level One volleyball course, the body announced this week. The program focused on core competencies required for effective sports management including event coordination, compliance with international regulations and support for player pathways. Participants included representatives from multiple clubs who finished the structured training modules over recent weeks.
A 2022 Asian Volleyball Confederation assessment noted that Kuwait hosted a comparable Level One coaches course that drew 29 candidates from several countries including Kuwait, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt and Iraq. That earlier initiative took place at the Abdullah Al-Salem Leadership Development Centre and the Sheikh Saad Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah Sports Complex according to the confederation’s report. The current administrators course extends similar development objectives into operational and governance roles within the domestic game.
The Kuwait Volleyball Association endorsed its 2026-2027 season roadmap during a general assembly held in June 2026 the body reported. That assembly ratified financial and administrative reports while approving plans to resume competitions and strengthen national team preparations. Secretary-General Talal Al-Nimash stated during related meetings that completing suspended leagues in a condensed tournament format would require robust administrative backing.
National team preparations have intensified with a training camp in Cairo ahead of the Arab Men’s Volleyball Championship scheduled from October 5 to 15 in Jordan according to the association. The squad departed Kuwait on September 18 for the camp which builds on earlier domestic sessions at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex. Such activities underscore the need for trained administrators to manage logistics and compliance across both club and international commitments.
The association has maintained a series of capacity-building programs in refereeing, coaching and administration throughout 2026 the body indicated in its seasonal updates. A specialized referees course ran from August 30 to September 10 at the Leaders Preparation Center in Khaldiya with international officials leading theoretical and practical sessions. These parallel initiatives form part of a coordinated push to align administrative, technical and officiating standards with the growth of competitions.
Dr. Jaber Al-Merri as president of the Kuwait Volleyball Association has overseen board decisions that prioritize infrastructure for these development courses the association said. General assemblies have repeatedly authorized resources for auditor appointments and program expansion to sustain momentum into the new fiscal year. The completion of the Level One administrators course supplies qualified personnel ready to support the expanded calendar of local leagues, cups and youth tournaments.
