This latest event forms part of a series of aerial threats Kuwait has confronted since the start of regional conflict with Iran in February 2026. The National reported that Kuwait’s air defence network intercepted every ballistic missile in an Iranian opening salvo of nearly 100 projectiles within five minutes on one occasion in June 2026.
Xinhua reported that as of July 8, 2026 Kuwait’s air defences had intercepted 383 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 906 drones since the conflict began.
