The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army reported that Lieutenant General Pilot Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah observed the Brigade 94 live-fire exercise conducted on Wednesday by the Saleh Al-Mohammad Mechanized Brigade. The program featured multiple scenarios and training tasks intended to raise combat proficiency and unit readiness. Al-Sabah monitored each phase of execution and examined the performance levels achieved by the participating troops.

According to the General Staff statement distributed by KUNA, the deputy chief stressed the continued importance of field training in refining capabilities and supporting effective mission delivery across army formations. He viewed the exercise as a key contributor to broader efforts that strengthen preparedness in ground units. Al-Sabah concluded the visit by commending the organizers and all those involved while offering wishes for their ongoing success in assigned duties.

The Saleh Al-Mohammad Mechanized Brigade has figured prominently in several major training activities over the past two years. KUNA reported that the Chief of Staff attended the conclusion of the Sawaed Al-Watan drill at the brigade base in December 2025, where participating units practiced assault operations, riot control and operational coordination. That exercise formed part of the army’s scheduled program to evaluate command structures and inter-unit support mechanisms.

Brigade 94 also conducted the Iron Shield 2 joint exercise with British forces in October 2024 that included weapons handling, specialized sniper training, vehicle operations and drone integration for ground support, according to a Kuwait Times account of the activity. The program emphasized urban tactics, counter-terrorism measures and information flow to commanders during simulated security operations. Such partnerships enable the exchange of procedural expertise between Kuwaiti and allied units.

Senior officers have maintained a pattern of regular inspections at the brigade to track progress on approved training curricula and equipment familiarization. A KUNA statement from November 2024 noted that Al-Sabah previously visited the formation to assess ongoing tasks, qualification programs and coordination with other military sectors. These reviews reinforce the emphasis placed on sustained readiness within Kuwait’s mechanized forces.

The General Staff has placed consistent priority on realistic live-fire components that allow troops to practice under conditions that replicate operational demands. Wednesday’s drill allowed participants to engage with current systems while testing decision-making processes in dynamic settings. The released statement did not provide further specifics on the types of munitions employed or quantitative results from the exercise.
