The Ministry of Interior announced the results of a security campaign in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh that led to the arrest of 45 people by the General Department of Criminal Investigation. According to the ministry, the action followed several reports of thefts, fires and violations that prompted intensified search and investigation operations in the area. The campaign forms part of ongoing efforts to apprehend wanted persons, curb criminal activities and address practices that violate the law.
Security checks resulted in 36 of the arrested being wanted in absence cases, including two women wanted in a case involving an illegitimate pregnancy who were referred to the Department of Combating Trafficking in Persons and Negative Phenomena. The investigation also led to the arrest of nine other individuals involved in various criminal cases and violations that included the theft of electrical cables, copper, iron, vehicle exhaust systems and women’s accessories. During the campaign one person was arrested for possession of tobacco and another for carrying substances suspected to be crystal methamphetamine and a chemical narcotic substance.
The ministry stated that all necessary legal procedures were completed against those arrested before they were referred to the competent authorities. The ministry added that the required reports were also prepared concerning individuals against whom deportation orders had been issued. This operation is one of several the ministry has carried out in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh to maintain security in the area.
The ministry has reported conducting intensified security campaigns in the district on multiple occasions. One such campaign led to 1,253 arrests, the ministry said.
These actions have frequently uncovered theft operations involving copper cables and car parts.
Ministry statements have highlighted the recovery of stolen materials in many of these operations. The focus remains on both criminal networks and administrative violations to enforce the law comprehensively. The General Department of Criminal Investigation continues to lead such initiatives across Kuwait.
