The Kuwait News Agency reported that the UAE President arrived in Kuwait City on a fraternal visit and was welcomed by the Amir along with Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. Discussions focused on expanding bilateral relations across all fields to serve mutual interests of both nations. The two leaders reviewed the latest regional and international developments with particular attention to the situation in the Middle East.

According to KUNA, both sides voiced support for every initiative aimed at achieving peace, security and stability in the region. The leaders examined Gulf issues and stressed the importance of strengthening unity within the Gulf Cooperation Council to promote development and prosperity among member states. The GCC, founded on May 25, 1981, by Kuwait, the UAE and four other countries, has advanced economic integration measures including a customs union that took effect in 2003, GCC Secretariat General documents show.

KUNA provided a full list of attendees that highlighted the high-level nature of the gathering. Kuwaiti participants included Foreign Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, Defence Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Minister of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah and several other senior officials from the Crown Prince’s Diwan and Foreign Affairs Ministry. The UAE side featured Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al-Nahyan plus additional members of the ruling family and government.

Bilateral economic relations have deepened substantially in recent years. A January 2026 assessment published by Economy Middle East placed total trade exchange between the UAE and Kuwait at $86.3 billion, establishing the UAE as Kuwait’s second-largest global trading partner. These figures build on earlier data showing non-oil trade forming a large share of exchanges and align with GCC goals for a common market declared in late 2007.

The meeting occurs against a backdrop of longstanding collaboration between the two states on regional security matters. Kuwait and the UAE, as founding GCC members, have coordinated positions on multiple international files since the council’s creation more than four decades ago. KUNA indicated that the talks reaffirmed the depth of ties that have endured through various regional challenges.

Further points of discussion included support for broader stability efforts across the Gulf. The Kuwait News Agency stated that both leaders expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved in their comprehensive review of shared priorities. Such visits have become regular features of diplomatic engagement between the two countries in recent years.
