The Ministry of Interior announced on August 13 the arrest of an Azerbaijani woman who had been practicing medicine without a license while operating an unlicensed clinic from her home in Jaber Al-Ahmad City. According to the ministry, the suspect provided consultations and examinations to patients in exchange for monetary payments ranging from KD 5 to KD 30. The investigation originated from information supplied by individuals who had received services at the residence.

A team from the General Department of Criminal Investigation’s Combating Counterfeiting and Forgery Crimes division executed the raid, supported by female officers. The ministry detailed that the presence of female personnel ensured appropriate handling of the female suspect during the search. Patient tips directed the authorities to the specific address where the activities were taking place.

The ministry listed seized assets from the premises as KD 11,651 in cash, one medical bed, multiple instruments, a white coat, one patient register, herbal preparation equipment and several labels. The woman admitted her involvement in the unlicensed operation when questioned by investigators. These items were catalogued and retained as evidence in the case file.

The ministry confirmed that all required legal procedures were followed prior to referring the suspect to the competent authority for prosecution. The directorate handles such matters through its dedicated criminal security channels. This referral completes the initial phase of enforcement against the detected violation.

The arrest forms one element in wider campaigns against unlicensed health practices, as the Ministry of Health closed seven private facilities in June 2026 for serious violations identified in joint inspections, Kuwait Times reported on June 29. Those actions targeted non-compliant operators throughout the private healthcare sector. Regulatory teams conducted the reviews to enforce licensing standards and operational guidelines.

Authorities took four Indian nationals into custody in November 2025 for running an unlicensed medical clinic and distributing state-procured medications, according to contemporary reports from Moneycontrol. In a different matter, police arrested an Indian housewife for unlicensed medical practice while she was treating a child. Public records of these incidents reveal recurring enforcement activity across multiple governorates and involving various expatriate communities.
