The Ministry of Interior said patrols from the General Traffic Department’s Security Control Department located the driver in the Al-Wafra agricultural area after videos of dangerous maneuvers spread online. The suspect admitted to the violations during questioning, which included endangering road users, producing excessive noise and operating the vehicle without license plates. Officers seized the car and ordered it crushed under Article 33 bis of the Traffic Law.

Investigations showed the driver had been wanted for previous recorded incidents, leading patrols to monitor farms in the region where vehicles are often concealed. Coordination with the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources enabled entry to the property and successful recovery of the vehicle. The case reflects a pattern of operations targeting attempts to evade detection in rural zones south of Kuwait City.

General Directorate of Traffic statistics released this month place the number of reckless, negligent or careless driving violations at 1,653 between April and August 2026. Those figures formed part of 1,118,644 total traffic violations recorded in the five-month period, with speeding accounting for 415,806 cases according to the same data. The ministry has urged residents to submit video evidence of offenses to its dedicated WhatsApp line.

Traffic campaigns in the week ending September 22 resulted in 25 reckless drivers arrested and 241 vehicles impounded, according to earlier ministry tallies. Public reports sent to number 99324092 have contributed to multiple recent apprehensions by supplying timely footage of violations. The department continues to monitor agricultural areas where such activities frequently occur.

The arrested driver was transferred to Central Prison after legal procedures were completed, the Ministry of Interior stated. Similar enforcement actions have occurred in Al-Wafra in recent weeks, including seizures of multiple vehicles hidden on farms. The ministry has indicated that monitoring and pursuit of violators will persist to address ongoing road safety concerns.
