Al Jarida reported that Ali Abdulwahab Al Mutawa Commercial Co. celebrated the opening of the second ASICS SportStyle store in Kuwait at 360 Mall on Wednesday. Japanese Ambassador to Kuwait Mukai Kenichiro joined AAW Deputy CEO Khalid Faisal Al-Mutawa and ASICS General Manager Seiji Hori for the ribbon-cutting event. This development follows the May launch of the world’s first ASICS SportStyle concept at The Avenues Mall, which introduced the brand’s lifestyle-focused retail format to the market.

Khalid Faisal Al-Mutawa highlighted the partnership’s progress at the ceremony. He said, “We are very happy with our cooperation with ASICS to open the second branch of ASICS SportStyle in Kuwait at 360 Mall. This opening reflects our keenness to meet the needs of the Kuwaiti consumer, who has become more aware of the importance of following an active lifestyle, and is keen to acquire high-quality products that combine sports performance, comfort and designs that suit their daily use.” The comments underscored rising demand for versatile athletic apparel in the country.

Seiji Hori described the new outlet as a milestone for the brand’s regional growth. He stated that the opening of the second ASICS SportStyle in Kuwait represents an important step in the course of the brand’s growth and the expansion of its presence in the region, and reflects the commitment to enhancing healthy lifestyles in local communities through encouraging sports and presenting the latest Japanese innovations. The ASICS executive noted that this vision is shared with partner Ali Abdulwahab Al Mutawa Commercial Co.

The store offers a range of footwear combining athletic elements with contemporary designs suitable for everyday wear. It aims to deliver a distinctive shopping experience tailored to sports shoe enthusiasts across Kuwait. Company details indicate the concept reinterprets ASICS’ athletic heritage through a fashion-oriented lens that stresses comfort and adaptability.

Ali Abdulwahab Al Mutawa Commercial Co., founded in 1918, stands as one of Kuwait’s largest retail and distribution enterprises. The firm represents more than 100 international brands in wholesale and retail channels, according to its corporate profile. Its collaboration with ASICS dates to 2018, when the first outlet opened at The Avenues Mall.

ASICS maintains six locations in Kuwait, with four dedicated to core sportswear at The Avenues, 360 Mall, Al Khiran Mall and Assima Mall. The two SportStyle stores focus specifically on the lifestyle segment launched earlier this year. An announcement on the brand’s regional Instagram account confirmed the second location provides an additional venue for customers to engage with the collections.
