The Embassy of India in Kuwait collaborated with ARMS4U to hold a tree planting event under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign at Abraj Park in Adailiya Block 4 on September 19, 2026. The gathering drew community members along with representatives from around 30 associations who planted trees to honor both their mothers and the environment. According to the embassy the initiative highlighted collective action to protect the environment and develop sustainable urban spaces across Kuwait.
Indian Ambassador Paramita Tripathi spoke during the event and stressed the value of community participation for advancing environmental sustainability. She urged ongoing work to create greener and healthier public areas throughout the country. The ambassador’s remarks came as part of a program that links environmental care with personal tributes to mothers.
The Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign began when Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched it on June 5, 2024 for World Environment Day. The embassy has recorded that the effort has spread through India and to several nations including Kuwait where multiple events have taken place. Organizers positioned the drive as a way to merge ecological responsibility with recognition of maternal bonds.
The embassy’s summary of the occasion noted close cooperation with ARMS4U and the participating community groups to carry out the program successfully. Around 30 associations joined the activity which reflected strong community spirit and collaboration within Kuwait. The embassy thanked ARMS4U for its role and called for additional community efforts under the campaign in the months ahead.
Earlier tree planting activities organized by the embassy have included a drive with the Dawoodi Bohra Community in Salmiya where participants set out more than 450 saplings of Kaf Maryam and Acacia Galetia. Those actions formed part of wider embassy plans to make the campaign a regular feature in Kuwait according to statements issued after the April 2026 event. The programs have consistently chosen native plants suited to local conditions to support long term green cover.
The latest event fits within the embassy’s activities under India’s Special Campaign 6.0 that focuses on cleanliness environmental sustainability and public space development. Al Rai newspaper reported that the drive also aimed to boost civic responsibility through environment friendly practices. Embassy officials have tracked participation from both Indian community groups and Kuwaiti partners in these repeated initiatives over the past two years.
