The Ministry of Interior announced the results of a security and traffic campaign in Jahra Governorate that led to the arrest of 33 wanted persons and the recording of 204 measures overall. Conducted by the General Department of Emergency Police, the operation was supervised by Brigadier General Hamlan Al-Hamlan and led by Colonel Sabah Ali Al-Sabah. The ministry said in its statement that the campaign aimed to enhance security, improve road safety and apprehend lawbreakers across the region.
According to the ministry, the campaign is one of several launched in quick succession across Kuwait’s governorates. A September campaign in the Saad Al-Abdullah area of Jahra resulted in 85 arrests and 61 traffic citations, ministry figures show. In mid-October, a Capital Governorate operation yielded 232 arrests and a total of 775 security and traffic actions, the ministry reported.
These repeated campaigns reflect a strategic approach to law enforcement, with a focus on residency, labor and traffic regulations. The ministry has noted that individuals arrested in such operations include those without valid identification, residency violators and persons with outstanding warrants. All cases from the Jahra campaign were referred to relevant authorities for legal follow-up.
Public Authority for Civil Information figures place Kuwait’s expatriate population at roughly 3.3 million, underscoring the scope of residency enforcement in these operations. Many arrests in the series of campaigns have involved expired permits or absconding reports filed by sponsors. The ministry has used the campaigns to address both immediate violations and longer-term compliance issues.
The General Department of Emergency Police has stated that similar security and traffic campaigns will continue in various governorates. This latest effort in Jahra adds to the momentum built by prior operations in Farwaniya and the Capital. Coordination with other government entities has been highlighted as key to the success of these initiatives.
