The Ahmadi Governorate Security Directorate explained that a mobile patrol near the Wafra Cooperative Society halted a vehicle for committing a traffic violation by entering parking areas in the wrong direction. Officers spotted bags holding liquor bottles in the vehicle during the stop. The driver acknowledged that the items had come from a house in the Wafra residential district, which triggered the deployment of a security team to the site for further action.
The Ministry of Interior identified the seven individuals arrested at the location as four Indian nationals and three Nepali nationals who had been running the unauthorized production facility. All seven were taken into custody at the scene where the manufacturing activity was underway. The suspects and all related evidence were subsequently referred to the competent authorities to initiate legal measures against them.
The ministry’s report on the raid listed the seizure of 820 bottles of locally produced liquor together with 110 barrels containing additional quantities of the substance. Two heaters employed in the manufacturing process were recovered from the premises along with two vehicles that had been used to transport the product. These findings came after the initial traffic enforcement action expanded into a targeted search of the residential property.
This development follows a separate operation two days earlier in the Al-Rihab area where the General Department of Criminal Investigation dismantled another illicit liquor network. That raid resulted in the confiscation of approximately 7,500 liters of alcoholic materials from a three-storey house that had been fully converted for production purposes, the ministry reported. Coordination with the General Fire Force was required in the Al-Rihab case due to hazardous flammable substances found inside the building.
Kuwait maintains a strict nationwide prohibition on alcohol that applies to production, distribution and consumption. The Ministry of Interior conducts repeated campaigns through its Public Morals Protection Sector to detect and shut down such operations across different governorates. Previous similar actions in the Wafra agricultural and residential zones have yielded seizures of barrels, bottles and production tools in line with these enforcement priorities.
The Wafra case began strictly from a traffic observation but expanded rapidly once the connection to the production site was established. Investigators from the Ahmadi Governorate directorate carried out the follow-up search and arrests without additional complications at the scene. The ministry confirmed that standard procedures were followed to document the evidence and process the individuals involved.
