On June 27, 2026, Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior reported the swift arrest of a suspect in the fatal stabbing of an Asian expatriate in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh the night before. The victim, a man in his 40s, was found dead with multiple stab wounds in a residential house following a violent confrontation triggered by a financial dispute. His roommate escaped the attack and provided key testimony that aided in the rapid identification of the assailant, who is of the same nationality.

The ministry said an emergency report of the fight brought security teams to the scene where they discovered the body. The roommate described to officers how the suspect stabbed the victim and then attempted to assault him as well before he fled to safety. Jleeb police station personnel were involved in the initial response alongside the Deputy Public Prosecutor who was promptly notified.

According to security sources, the Deputy Public Prosecutor visited the location to oversee proceedings and directed that the body be moved to the Forensic Medicine Department. This facilitated the launch of a criminal investigation that focused on locating the perpetrator based on the roommate’s account. The coordinated operation between various units enabled authorities to apprehend the individual shortly thereafter.

Investigators recovered the knife allegedly used in the attack during the arrest. The suspect confessed during questioning that the stabbing resulted from an escalating financial disagreement between the two men. The Deputy Public Prosecutor has charged him with premeditated murder and ordered his detention pending further probes.

Public Authority for Civil Information figures place Kuwait’s expatriate population at roughly 3.3 million, with a significant number residing in areas like Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. Kuwait Times reported that a man was stabbed to death in a Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh fight in 2017. The neighborhood has featured in multiple security incidents involving expatriate residents over the years.

The Ministry of Interior has not released the specific nationalities of those involved as the legal process continues. All evidence including the recovered weapon will be presented in the course of the prosecution. The case is expected to move forward with testimony from the surviving roommate and any additional forensic findings.
