The ministry stated that authorities have activated international cooperation channels to pursue the foreign contact and any linked networks. All seized items and the suspect were transferred to the Public Prosecution for further legal measures.
The operation forms part of intensified monitoring of commercial import routes that have become a preferred channel for concealing narcotics in recent years. Brigadier General Mohammed Qabazard, Director General of the General Administration for Drug Control, told the Kuwait News Agency that smuggling cases during the first half of 2026 fell to 15 from 102 in the corresponding period of 2025. Trafficking cases likewise declined from 354 to 184 over the same timeframe according to the ministry data.
Qabazard described the reductions as evidence of the effectiveness of pre-emptive strikes against smuggling and distribution chains.
