The Kuwaiti club stated that Tareq broke into the senior side under coach Boris Bunjak after progressing through its youth system. He went on to make appearances in the Kuwait Premier League and various cup competitions during his time with Al-Arabi. The midfielder also represented the country at youth levels before graduating to the senior national team, according to player career summaries on BeSoccer.

This marks the fourth significant first-team exit for Al-Arabi this season. Salman Al-Awadi and Abdullah Al-Qarzaei have joined Kuwait Club while Ahmed Khorshid has transferred to Salmiya. The club has not revealed Tareq’s future plans in its announcement.

Data from Soccerway shows the 29-year-old featured in multiple seasons for Al-Arabi, including limited minutes in the 2025-26 Premier League campaign. Born on April 21, 1997 in Kuwait City, Tareq signed his first professional contract with the club in 2016. His contract had been set to run until June 2028 prior to the mutual separation.

Tareq earned 10 call-ups to the Kuwait national team, making six starts and scoring once, national team statistics indicate. He made his debut in a friendly in March 2018. The player participated in Gulf Cup of Nations and World Cup qualification matches during his international career.

Al-Arabi continues to rebuild its squad amid ongoing participation in both domestic and continental competitions. The team has recorded mixed results in the early part of the 2025-26 season. Officials thanked Tareq for his contributions over the past decade and a half in the club’s statement.

The departure comes after a period in which Tareq spent time on loan at Al-Shabab during the 2021-22 season before returning. He has been part of squads that competed in the AFC Cup and AFC Challenge League. Records place his total league appearances for Al-Arabi at around 19 across various campaigns.
