The extension follows Al Ahly’s rejection of an offer from Turkish side Konyaspor for the midfielder during the current transfer window. Ashour joined Al Ahly from Danish side Midtjylland in the summer of 2023. Club figures show he has since made 105 appearances across all competitions, scoring 32 goals and providing 25 assists. His contributions have been central to the team’s domestic and continental campaigns since his arrival from rival Zamalek earlier in his career.
The midfielder has featured prominently in squads that secured back-to-back Egyptian Premier League titles in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons. Al Ahly’s records also list him as a key part of the side that claimed the 2024-25 CAF Champions League title. These achievements underscore the importance the club attaches to retaining established talents through structured contract extensions.
