A third-place finish in Arizona adds another international result to the Kuwaiti racer’s record, which stretches from junior competition to endurance races on Indonesia’s Lake Toba.

  • A racing record across different circuits

Rashid Al-Dawwas’s latest podium came at a familiar destination for international jet ski racers: Lake Havasu City in Arizona. The Kuwaiti competitor finished third in the professional seated category during the second round of the world series, adding another result to a career that has taken him across different racing formats and continents.

According to the Kuwait News Agency report, the meeting brought together 250 racers from 32 countries. Al-Dawwas represented the Kuwait Marine Sports Club in the Pro Runabout category.

Club chairman Mohammed Al-Zanki welcomed the result and reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting its competitors. The 2026 series comprises rounds in Bulgaria, the United States and Thailand, placing the Arizona meeting within a campaign that extends beyond a single race weekend.

For Al-Dawwas, the result also offers a reason to look beyond the latest trophy. His earlier appearances show a racer whose experience includes both conventional championship competition and the longer demands of endurance racing.

From junior competition to the open class

An athlete profile published by Kuwaiti sponsor MATES dates Al-Dawwas’s start in racing to 2015 and says he won his first world championship title at 15. The company places his move into professional open-class competition in 2018.

That account provides a useful outline of his progression, although it is a sponsor’s biography rather than a complete championship results archive. Its broader tally of titles spans several categories and should be understood in that context.

The distinction matters in personal watercraft racing, where results are organised by class and format. A podium in one division describes a specific achievement, rather than an overall ranking across every competitor at a meeting. Arizona’s entry numbers illustrate the scale of the event, not the number of riders contesting Al-Dawwas’s individual class.

His international record also extends beyond the American venue. In Indonesia, he became part of a closely contested endurance championship whose outcome depended on several races spread across three days.

A championship fought across Lake Toba

The 2023 UIM-ABP endurance competition on Lake Toba offers a more detailed view of that experience. The event was contested through six races, with separate daily competitions for the Karo, Dairi and Samosir Cups.

An official Aquabike retrospective describes Al-Dawwas challenging French racer Jean-Bruno Pastorello during the Dairi Cup before Pastorello secured the day’s honours. Al-Dawwas remained in contention later in the meeting, but encountered trouble in the final heat as the Frenchman went on to win the world title.

The championship combined two 35-minute races each day with movement between locations around the lake. Points were also allocated for transfers between the daily base and race venues, giving the competition a structure quite different from a single short race.

A subsequent account in The Watercraft Journal records Pastorello finishing with 154 points, five ahead of American Anthony Radetic. Al-Dawwas completed the top three, ahead of the UAE’s Rashed Al-Tayer and Sweden’s Johan Johansson. Twenty-two riders scored points during the meeting.

That earlier result gives the Arizona podium a broader context. Al-Dawwas has competed near the front in more than one international setting, with the Indonesian event providing a documented example of his performance across a sustained, multi-day contest.

A racing record across different circuits

Al-Dawwas also appeared on the official entry list for the 2024 Aquabike championship meeting in Olbia, alongside competitors from Europe, Asia and the Americas. That listing establishes another international entry, rather than a result, but adds to the picture of his competition programme.

The UIM-ABP events and the IJSBA-associated Arizona meeting belong to distinct competition structures. Keeping those results separate makes his record clearer and avoids presenting different championships as one continuous series.

His latest third place returns attention to the current campaign. With Thailand also included in the 2026 series, the next chapter concerns the remaining competition and the final standings. Arizona supplies the latest result; his earlier races show the experience behind it.
