The inaugural International Police Sports Federation Show Jumping Championship continued on January 29, 2026 at the Subhan arena with 120cm to 140cm jumps scheduled, the Arab Times reported. Friday’s final rounds will raise heights to 125cm, 135cm and 145cm as the four-day event, hosted by the Police Sports Federation in partnership with the Kuwait Equestrian Federation, draws to a close.

The Police Sports Federation Arena has recently hosted several major equestrian events, including the Equestrian League, Dressage Championships and the Global Dressage Challenge under FEI rules, according to the Arab Times. A dressage training camp was also organized at the facility, further strengthening ties between the Police Sports Federation and the Kuwait Equestrian Federation. This cooperation has turned the Subhan venue into a central hub for equestrian development in Kuwait, providing spaces for both competition and skill-building activities. The approach has helped in preparing local talent for international stages.

KUNA reported that the championship is the first international jumping event of its kind by the Kuwait Police Sports Federation and includes hurdles from 100 to 145 centimeters. The competition has attracted riders aiming to excel in the various height categories over the course of the event. International officials have been invited to ensure the event meets global benchmarks for show jumping tournaments.

The judging panel is led by international judge Nidar Al-Mustafa, joined by Khaled Al-Ansari, Raghad Al-Dabbous, Ibtisam Al-Aarouri and Ines Bigdel, the Arab Times reported. Andreas Stoyper-Bamberger designed the courses for the competition. Bahraini judge Mohammed Dadallah heads the arena judging team, which includes Badr Al-Haifi, Asma Malallah, Dr. Yahya Al-Hadban and Anna Alexandra Spirento, while Dr. Haya Ibrahim acts as the FEI veterinary delegate. These roles are critical to the successful and equitable execution of the multi-day championship.

Brigadier General Sheikh Mubarak Ali Al-Yousuf, chairman of the Police Sports Federation, thanked First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef for his support. “The conclusion of the local show jumping league will be hosted at the Police Federation facilities, highlighting our partnership with the Kuwait Equestrian Federation. This demonstrates the commitment of sports institutions to unify efforts and advance equestrian sports in Kuwait. All facilities will be available for competitions, training camps, and equestrian activities, helping develop local riders and raise the standard of the sport,” he stated.

The championship comes on the heels of the local show jumping contest that wrapped up on January 24, 2026, where Anaz Al-Anaz of Sahari Club claimed the Rising Riders Cup, Kuwait Times reported. A practice show jumping competition took place at the same arena in November 2025, according to Gulf Equestrian. Such events form part of a busy season for the Police Sports Federation. The federation’s facilities continue to support a wide array of training and competitive programs year-round.
