Packages included return flights match tickets and transportation offered at subsidized rates of KD 80 for business class and KD 40 for economy according to an earlier KFA announcement. Registration for the fan flights had opened days before the fixture through the association’s official website.
This edition of the Gulf Cup comes one year after Kuwait hosted the previous tournament which ran from December 2024 to January 2025 and drew widespread participation from across the region according to official records from that event. The current competition features the same core group of teams including Iraq the UAE Oman Bahrain Qatar and Yemen in what has become a cornerstone of Arabian Gulf football. Fan engagement has remained high with multiple initiatives aimed at enhancing the supporter experience during matches.
The KFA has also secured additional backing for the national team through a platinum sponsorship agreement with talabat for the 2026-2027 season that was announced earlier in September. In that partnership announcement the association noted the importance of private sector contributions in creating the right environment for players and strengthening Kuwaiti football at regional and international levels. The sponsorship includes initiatives to bring fans closer to the team during key competitions such as the Gulf Cup.
Saudi coach Giorgos Donis addressed the result in a post-match press conference where he described the victory as crucial for his side. Donis praised the quality of his players and their ability to generate scoring opportunities though he called for better decision-making in the final third.
