The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed Kuwait’s firm commitment to the principles and purposes of the UN Charter along with its backing for efforts to preserve international peace and security through peaceful settlement of disputes. The statement also expressed support for confronting global challenges including humanitarian crises, climate change, terrorism, disarmament and the sustainable development goals, according to the Kuwait News Agency. The ministry voiced appreciation for the role played by the United Nations and its specialized agencies in coordinating responses to humanitarian and developmental requirements across the world.

Kuwait has taken pride in its historical partnership with the United Nations since acceding to membership in 1963, the ministry said in the statement carried by KUNA. This association has witnessed productive cooperation and reciprocal solidarity that has benefited both sides over more than six decades. The ministry pointed to its consistent response to United Nations appeals for relief assistance to nations hit by disasters and conflicts.

According to the statement, Kuwait remains eager to sustain its contributions in humanitarian and developmental domains while taking an active part in multiple UN gatherings. The country’s foreign policy rests on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states as well as non-interference in internal affairs, KUNA reported. Officials described the United Nations as the central pillar of the multilateral system and the chief venue for joint action on shared international issues.

The ministry noted that Kuwait has extended developmental aid to more than 100 countries during the past 60 years, a record that illustrates its dedication to global solidarity. This assistance forms part of broader support for UN-led initiatives aimed at promoting stability and prosperity, the statement added. Kuwait views such engagement as integral to its international outlook and will persist in these endeavors.

KUNA reported that the reaffirmation aligns with Kuwait’s longstanding tradition of mediation, humanitarian work and contributions to peacekeeping operations. The ministry called for enhanced international collaboration to put the UN Charter’s values into practice amid current worldwide difficulties. The statement concluded by underlining belief in the organization’s indispensable function in advancing cooperation among all nations.
