According to championship organizers, Anaz Al-Anaz of the Sahara Resort and Kuwait national equestrian team won the 140-centimeter Grand Prix on the first day of competition at the Kuwait Equestrian Center. Abdullah Al-Ramadan took first in the 130cm medium prize event while Fawaz Al-Rashed won the 120cm small prize that same day. The event attracted riders from multiple countries and served as a key competition in the regional calendar.
Al-Anaz followed up with another win in the 145cm Grand Prix on the second day, organizers said. He was followed by Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Al-Sharbatly in second place, Britain’s Chad Fellows in third, and several Kuwaiti riders including Fawaz Al-Subaie and Yara Al-Hunaidi. In the 130cm medium prize class, Ali Al-Kharafi secured the win on that day.
The champions were crowned by Walid Al-Marshoud, Marshoud Al-Marshoud, the Qatari ambassador to Kuwait Ali Al-Mahmoud, the Bahraini ambassador Salah Al-Maliki and the British ambassador Qudsi Rasheed, a ceremony report indicated. This edition marked the 12th running of the Atyab Al-Marshoud championship. The Kuwait Equestrian Federation has organized a series of such events to boost the sport’s profile.
Anaz Al-Anaz has enjoyed a strong season overall, including a first-place finish in the 140cm class at the Qatar Equestrian Federation Cup with a time of 65.74 seconds. Kuwait News Agency data places him among the top performers in local leagues as well. His results contribute to Kuwait’s rising presence in international equestrian competitions.
The Public Authority for Sport backs these championships as part of broader efforts to enhance athletic standards, federation officials noted. Events at the Kuwait Equestrian Center regularly draw large crowds and international participants. Such tournaments provide vital experience for national team members ahead of major outings.
Kuwait has hosted multiple FEI-approved show jumping events in recent years, with one December 2025 edition featuring prize money of more than 32,000 USD for the Grand Prix alone. These competitions help in identifying and nurturing talent like Al-Anaz who consistently ranks high in both local and regional meets. The continued investment in infrastructure at the center supports the growing popularity of the sport in the country.
