According to the Kuwait News Agency, the Cabinet praised the Public Authority for Civil Aviation’s decision to join the Airports Council International as a positive step in raising Kuwait’s profile among the world’s airports. The weekly meeting took place at the new Terminal 2 facility under Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, who also led an inspection tour of the project earlier that day. A KUNA report from October 1, 2025, had previously detailed engagements between the authority’s director-general and ACI officials during an ICAO-related visit to examine cooperation on airport management and passenger services.
The agency detailed that the Airports Council International unites 811 member organizations operating more than 2,200 airports in over 160 countries. The body works to advance safety, security, efficiency, sustainability, service quality and the overall passenger experience at facilities worldwide. Membership provides the Public Authority for Civil Aviation with opportunities to draw on international expertise, data resources, training initiatives, standards development, committee work and the exchange of operational best practices.
Kuwait News Agency reported that the membership will support broader efforts to align Kuwait International Airport with global benchmarks. The authority will now be positioned to participate in specialized events and collaborate with major operators across regions. These connections build on the government’s ongoing investment in aviation infrastructure to accommodate rising demand.
The Cabinet received an update on a handwritten letter sent to Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah by General Abdelfattah Al-Burhan, chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council. Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohi El-Din Salem Ahmad delivered the message to Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. The communication addressed fraternal bilateral relations between Kuwait and Sudan.
KUNA further reported that ministers examined outcomes from a telephone conversation between the Prime Minister and French counterpart Sebastien Lecornu. Greetings from the Amir and Crown Prince were passed to President Emmanuel Macron in the discussion. The call referenced an invitation for Macron to visit Kuwait this year, coinciding with the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Ministers were also briefed on the Crown Prince’s meeting with Pakistan’s Lieutenant General Mohammad Asim Malik, the National Security Adviser and Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence, along with his delegation. The Prime Minister held a separate meeting with the same Pakistani officials during their visit to Kuwait. Both encounters focused on bilateral ties and mutual interests.
