The Kuwait Boxing Federation has crowned Qurain Sports Club the winner of the inaugural Youth Boxing Championship following the conclusion of competition this week at the Sabah Al-Salem Boxing Hall. The club accumulated the highest overall points total by securing several gold medals in the various categories contested by youth athletes. Federation officials noted the event drew participants from multiple clubs and served to highlight emerging talent in the sport.
The Asian Boxing Confederation news service has documented the federation’s organization of a series of national championships throughout the current season. In a December 2025 youth national event covered by that service Sulaibikhat Sports Club took the team honors with five gold medals while individual titles went to boxers from Naser Qurain Kuwait City and Jahra. Such tournaments typically feature between 10 and 13 weight classes for competitors in the 17-18 age range.
Kuwait Times reported that the most recent junior national championship in mid-October 2026 saw Al-Nasr Club claim first place with Sulaibikhat in second and Qurain finishing third. That competition included gold medal performances by athletes from Al-Nasr Al-Sulaibikhat Al-Qurain and Al-Qadisiya across the weight divisions. The youth championship maintains a similar structure but targets a specific developmental age group.
The Kuwait Boxing Federation has arranged these events to build the pipeline for national team selection and international competition. Previous editions have shown improving technical standards and physical preparation among the participating clubs according to statements from federation board members in earlier coverage. The inaugural youth edition adds to the annual calendar and aims to sustain momentum in the discipline.
Federation activities have included recognition of top performers and coaches at closing ceremonies for each national championship. The Sabah Al-Salem Boxing Hall continues to serve as the primary venue for these domestic tournaments providing consistent facilities for training and events. Additional national-level competitions are scheduled in the coming months to further develop boxers at all youth and junior levels.
