Al Safat Investment Company announced that its unit Al Safat Holding will dispose of its 50 percent stake in Liquid Capital General Trading Company. The decision forms part of ongoing portfolio restructuring that produced net profits of KD 4.65 million in the first half of 2025, Kuwait Times reported last August.
In an announcement covered by Refinitiv and published on TradingView, the company indicated it would sell the entire holding in the general trading firm. Al Safat Holding currently owns 50 percent of Liquid Capital, as shown in the group’s 2025 annual report available on its website. The report lists Liquid Capital General Trading Company W.L.L. as an associate with that ownership level. The company has not yet released further details on the buyer, valuation or timing of the disposal.
Al Safat Investment Company has pursued an active restructuring program in recent years with several notable transactions. The firm completed the acquisition and integration of Cap Corp Investment Company in October 2023 after receiving regulatory approvals from the Capital Markets Authority, according to Marketscreener. It also exited its investment in Middle East Chemical Manufacturing Company through a subsidiary, recording a net profit of KD 331,050 in the third quarter of 2024, the company’s 2024 annual report stated. These steps have supported greater focus on strategic sectors according to company filings.
The company’s first-half 2025 financial results reflected benefits from the restructuring efforts. Kuwait Times reported that Al Safat Investment achieved net profits of KD 4.65 million in the period. Management attributed the performance to portfolio restructuring, enhanced operational efficiency and effective liquidity management in the article. The company has expanded its client base through innovative investment solutions and introduced a market-making service for listed companies on Boursa Kuwait.
Founded on September 15, 1983, Al Safat Investment Company transformed into a full-fledged investment-licensed firm in 2003 and relisted its shares on Boursa Kuwait in October 2021, according to its corporate website. The investment manager’s capital base stood at KD 77,298,334 in recent updates. It specializes in Shariah-compliant acquisitions, buyouts, growth capital and venture investments primarily in Kuwait, the GCC and MENA regions. The firm also offers financial consulting services to institutional and individual clients.
Al Safat detailed positive resolutions from legal proceedings in its annual reports. The parent company secured an initial AED 60 million payment in January 2025 as part of an AED 160 million settlement with the custodian of Evolvence Capital after a final court ruling in its favor, the 2024 annual report said. Additional installments are due over the following five years under the agreement. The company continues to await remaining payments from the judicial settlement as noted in company updates.
The planned stake disposal in Liquid Capital follows the company’s prior exits from non-core holdings such as Roots Securities Trading. Al Safat Investment described such moves as aligning its portfolio more closely with future strategic priorities in a LinkedIn company profile. The firm maintains a focus on high-potential sectors including healthcare, technology, real estate and consumer goods. Its approach emphasizes compliance with Kuwait Capital Markets Authority regulations and Islamic Sharia principles.
