The Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority announced the My Numbers service within the Sahel application, enabling users to access a consolidated record of all communication lines and related services tied to their civil identification details. CITRA encouraged both citizens and expatriates to utilise the tool regularly in order to verify the accuracy of registered data and identify any unrecognised entries promptly. The authority positioned the service as a straightforward method to gain an up-to-date overview without contacting individual operators separately, according to its advisory.

CITRA reported that the feature forms part of wider measures to bolster personal data protection and increase transparency across the telecommunications sector. Users can detect services they do not recognise through the single platform, which draws information directly from all licensed providers. The regulatory body urged residents to review their records periodically to maintain better control over accounts associated with their names.

Mobile subscriber penetration in Kuwait exceeds 181 percent, a level that Mordor Intelligence data placed at that mark in 2025 and which reflects widespread multi-SIM ownership among the population. This saturation means many individuals manage lines across competing operators, heightening the value of a centralised verification system such as My Numbers. The Central Statistical Bureau figures show the country’s total population hovers near 5 million, with expatriates forming the majority and relying heavily on mobile connectivity for daily needs.

The Sahel app functions as the state’s unified e-government platform, operated by the Central Agency for Information Technology under the Ministry of Communications. Since its launch in 2021, the application has incorporated services from multiple authorities, allowing authenticated users to handle transactions ranging from civil records to regulatory inquiries through one interface. Integration of CITRA’s My Numbers continues this expansion by addressing a specific need in the communications domain.

Access begins by opening the Sahel application on a compatible mobile device and navigating to the CITRA services section. Selection of the My Numbers option then displays the complete list of registered telephone lines and associated telecommunications products. CITRA recommended that users log in using their civil identification credentials to ensure secure and personalised results from the query.

Earlier enhancements to the Sahel platform have included digital options for residency procedures, health appointments and public announcements from various ministries. The latest CITRA addition aligns with Kuwait’s broader digital transformation objectives under Vision 2035, which emphasise streamlined government services and reduced administrative friction. The authority indicated that the service would continue to evolve based on user feedback and sector requirements.
