The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced that electricity supply has been fully restored to the Fahaheel area after a technical fault caused the Fahaheel (A) Main Substation to go out of service. Emergency teams were dispatched immediately to repair the fault and restore electricity. The ministry confirmed that the outage impacted only a limited section of the area with power returning after completion of the necessary repairs.

According to the ministry the fault was isolated and did not point to broader grid problems. Repair crews worked to re-feed the affected sections from the electricity grid. This action minimized disruption for local residents and businesses in the impacted zone.

The incident marks the latest in a series of power disruptions recorded in Kuwait this year. In July 2026 the ministry said that power had been restored to all residential areas after outages caused by a number of overhead lines going out of service with teams completing re-feeding operations from the electricity grid. In March the ministry stated that seven overhead power lines went out of service due to falling debris from interception operations resulting in partial power outages across various locations.

Such events have highlighted ongoing challenges with the national power infrastructure. The ministry has announced a weeklong maintenance schedule on transformer stations across six governorates to improve system reliability. The planned work forms part of efforts to address recurring technical issues.

Official updates regarding the Fahaheel restoration were shared through the ministry’s communication channels. Local residents received confirmation that all services had returned to normal by midday. The authority urged anyone still facing issues to contact its designated support lines promptly.

This response follows the ministry’s established protocols for handling substation faults in Kuwait’s urban areas. Previous comparable cases including one in Jahra saw similar rapid interventions by technical teams. The ministry continues to focus on infrastructure resilience as demand for electricity grows across the country.
