The Kuwait Times post on X highlighted that the draw was sufficient for Kuwait SC to clinch the championship with matches still remaining in the championship group phase. The group includes traditional rivals such as Al-Qadsia which recently defeated Al-Salmiya 3-2 according to a Kuwait Times report published earlier in the week. Al-Arabi Kazma and Al-Fahaheel round out the six teams competing for top honors and continental qualification spots. This playoff format of the Zain Premier League creates intense competition during the latter stages of the campaign.
Kuwait SC had topped the regular season table with 44 points from 18 games according to standings reported by Kuwait Times. The team’s form carried into the championship round where the Friday draw against Al-Salmiya proved decisive. Kuwait SC first claimed the league title in 1964-65 and has since built a record that no other Kuwaiti side can match. The club enters continental competitions with added confidence following this domestic success.
With 21 titles to its name Kuwait SC leads the all-time standings by a significant margin over Al-Arabi and Al-Qadsia each with 17 according to league historical data. Al-Salmiya and Kazma follow with four titles apiece from earlier eras of the competition. The 2025-26 triumph marks continued dominance in the Zain-sponsored league which serves as the top tier of Kuwaiti football. Recent high-scoring matches in the championship group have been a feature of the current campaign.
The Zain Premier League sponsored by the telecommunications firm features 10 teams in its initial phase before splitting into championship and relegation groups. Kuwait SC amassed a strong points total in the regular season with 13 wins and five draws while maintaining a solid defensive record. This foundation proved vital as the club secured the title with a share of the points on Friday. League officials have not yet announced details of any official celebrations for the champions.
