The Kuwait Volleyball Federation approved Talal Al-Namsh of Kazma as secretary-general and Ziad Al-Anzi of Al-Nasr as a board member on February 18 2026 to complete the 2024-2027 term. The appointments were ratified at the ordinary general assembly held at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex in Kuwait City under president Dr. Jaber Al-Merri with participation from assistant secretary Naif Al-Khamili treasurer Talal Al-Adwani and representatives of multiple clubs.

The updated board consists of Dr. Jaber Al-Merri as president from Al-Sahel Nasser Al-Anzi as vice president from Al-Jahra Talal Al-Adwani as treasurer from Burgan Hamad Al-Badhali as assistant treasurer from Al-Sulaibikhat and Naif Al-Khamili as assistant secretary from Al-Tadhamon. It also includes Naif Al-Felkawei as member from Yarmouk Dhari Al-Areefi as member from Kuwait Club Jassim Al-Felkawei as member from Al-Shabab Talal Al-Namsh as secretary-general from Kazma and Ziad Al-Anzi as board member from Al-Nasr. These changes ensure full staffing for the remainder of the term following nominations opened earlier in February 2026 according to federation proceedings.

According to the Arab Times Al-Qadsia lodged a formal protest over its 2-3 loss to Yarmouk in the league claiming the opponent fielded both professional and youth-born players simultaneously in violation of regulations. Ismail Dashti administrator of Al-Qadsia stated that the infraction should result in a 3-0 victory being awarded to Al-Qadsia. The protest was noted in conjunction with the federation’s general assembly.

Elsewhere in the league Al-Sulaibikhat defeated Burgan 3-2. The current standings list Kuwait Club in first place with 20 points followed by Al-Qadsia on 17 Al-Arabi with 15 and Kazma with 14. Al-Sulaibikhat holds 13 points Burgan has 11 Al-Shabab 10 Yarmouk 5 and both Al-Nasr and Al-Sahel sit at zero.

The Kuwait Volleyball Federation became a member of the Asian Volleyball Confederation in 1976 paving the way for greater regional involvement as detailed on the organization’s website. Kuwait’s men’s national volleyball team holds a world ranking of 77th and has a best Asian Championship finish of fourth place in 1987 according to international volleyball records. Qadsia SC leads all-time league titles with 23 while Kuwait SC has won 16 times including the 2024-25 championship.

In mid-February 2026 the West Asian Volleyball Championship took place in Kuwait where Qatar’s Al-Rayyan secured its fourth consecutive title as reported by the International Volleyball Federation. Hosts Kuwait claimed bronze in the club event while Bahrain’s Dar Kulaib took silver. The timing overlapped with the federation’s assembly as it worked to strengthen its administrative structure.
