The Public Authority for Civil Information announced October 1 that it had launched a building cancellation service on the Sahel app, which lets property owners electronically request deletion of data for an existing building and all units registered against it. The authority’s announcement on its news portal and shared via official channels explained that the process eliminates the requirement for physical presence at any PACI branch. Applicants complete the full cycle digitally, from submission and document upload through status tracking to final approval receipt.
Official figures released by the Sahel application account at the end of 2025 placed the total number of completed transactions on the platform above 131 million, with more than 3 million users and 491 government e-services available. Those statistics, published by the unified government services app, demonstrate the scale of adoption that has built up ahead of the latest PACI addition. The building cancellation feature joins prior property management tools already live on the platform.
PACI detailed in its August announcement a parallel entity deletion service that operates with the same digital steps on Sahel, allowing owners to remove entities without office visits. The authority has issued multiple such updates across 2026, each expanding the range of civil and property records that citizens and residents can adjust remotely. Integration with the app’s authentication system ensures secure access tied to civil identification credentials.
A notice carried in the official gazette Kuwait Alyoum during May stated that PACI canceled residential addresses linked to 427 individuals based on owner declarations or building demolitions. Affected persons were instructed to update their information via the Sahel app within 30 days or face fines under relevant civil information law. Comparable action in June involved 464 expatriate address cancellations, according to subsequent gazette publications.
The Public Authority for Civil Information maintains a network of service centers but has directed an increasing volume of routine transactions to the Sahel platform to ease congestion at its main South Surra facility and regional branches. Related services now accessible include issuance of security certificates, residency status modifications and spatial data queries through the embedded Kuwait Finder module. Users authenticate once in the app to reach the full menu of PACI offerings.
This latest service forms part of the authority’s broader digital rollout that has progressively moved procedures online since the Sahel app’s introduction. PACI has coordinated with the app’s operators to incorporate new functions that maintain the integrity of national civil records while reducing processing times. The building cancellation option specifically targets owners seeking to clear outdated or obsolete property entries from the central database.
