The pavilion organized by the Medical Entomology and Rodent Control Department was attended by Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Affairs Dr Al-Mundhir Al-Hasawi as part of a wider push to advance disease prevention. In a statement the ministry said the event forms one element in its campaign to elevate environmental health standards throughout Kuwait. Dr Fatima Al-Draiweesh head of the department stressed that environmental health constitutes a shared societal responsibility while the display encouraged visitors to adopt recycling and other sound practices.
According to the ministry statement the pavilion outlined field operations conducted from November 2023 to July 2026. These operations involved monitoring and resolving thousands of environmental observations through coordination with public health units in every health district and multiple government institutions. The initiative also sought to inform the public about practical steps that limit pollution and the conditions fostering infestations.
Al-Draiweesh noted that departmental services operate around the clock to address resident reports. Callers can reach the Ministry of Health by dialing 151 and selecting option 6 for immediate assistance. The same services are accessible through the Salem mobile application which streamlines submission and follow-up.
The ministry has continued to expand its resources to support these efforts. In a statement released in January 2026 the ministry announced the addition of 20 specialized vehicles to the pest and rodent control fleet. That expansion according to the ministry aimed to shorten response intervals and widen operational reach in every governorate.
Al-Draiweesh speaking during the January announcement urged greater community involvement through the established reporting channels. She explained that “environmental sanitation comprises essential procedures and services designed to protect public health by ensuring a clean and safe environment free from pathogens and pollution.” The new vehicles have enabled specialized teams to maintain continuous preventive work against vectors of disease.
These awareness activities complement the ministry’s annual sanitation programs that precede each academic term. Last year the ministry reported treating hundreds of schools nationwide in coordination with education authorities to create pest-free environments for students and staff. Such campaigns according to ministry figures have become a regular feature of efforts to safeguard public health year-round.
