The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition carried out the inspection campaign in the Farwaniya Governorate as part of its regular oversight activities. Inspectors identified and destroyed 88 kilograms of meat whose source could not be verified through proper documentation. The authority documented a total of 10 violations during the operation according to its statement. Legal proceedings will be initiated against the establishments and individuals involved in the breaches.

According to the authority the violations encompassed trading in adulterated food products along with instances of workers sleeping overnight in the premises without permission. Additional breaches involved failure to uphold required hygiene standards across the inspected sites. The authority stressed that all such cases would face appropriate enforcement measures under prevailing food safety legislation.

The Monday campaign adds to a series of similar actions the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition has undertaken in recent months across multiple governorates. In late July the authority destroyed 195.2 kilograms of rotten meat in Farwaniya following an inspection that uncovered several health certificate and adulteration violations. A separate August operation in the Jleeb market resulted in the destruction of approximately 100 kilograms of meat of unknown origin and four related citations the authority reported.

These repeated interventions demonstrate the scale of compliance challenges within Kuwait’s food retail sector according to the authority’s compiled inspection data. The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition has conducted coordinated sweeps in areas including Mahboula and Mubarak Al-Kabeer where teams destroyed nearly 700 kilograms of unfit meat while issuing dozens of violations. Such figures underscore the volume of substandard products that inspectors continue to intercept before they reach consumers.

The authority maintains teams dedicated to food inspection and sampling to verify product quality and traceability at every stage of the supply chain. Operators must provide clear documentation on meat sources and ensure staff hold up-to-date health certificates the authority requires. Non-compliance triggers immediate product seizure and potential business suspension until corrective steps are completed.

Ongoing monitoring efforts by the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition extend to all governorates with a focus on high-risk categories such as meat and dairy products. The authority has expanded its field presence to respond swiftly to consumer complaints and market intelligence on possible irregularities.
