The Kuwaiti brand’s planned Blajat Beach project brings animal-focused recreation into a waterfront already being reshaped around family activities, building on a concept that began indoors in Al Rai.

A family day at the beach usually means finding somewhere to eat, something for the children to do and a place to spend time together. Zue’s proposed expansion at Blajat Beach in Salmiya adds another consideration: making room for the family pet.

Developed in collaboration with the Touristic Enterprises Company, according to the project information, Zue by the Beach brings together dedicated animal spaces, children’s activities and waterfront dining. The plans include a dog park, an indoor cat lounge and an educational programme alongside places to gather and host events.

The significance lies in where those activities are being brought together. Zue began with a dedicated environment for pets and their owners. Its beach concept places that experience within a broader family leisure destination, connecting a Kuwaiti business built around animals with the continuing development of the country’s seafront.

A family outing that began indoors

In its account of how the business began, Zue identifies a practical problem: finding somewhere in Kuwait where people could spend time with their pets regardless of the weather. Its response combined a pet shop with a park, grooming facilities, a rooftop garden and a café.

That combination made the original concept more than a place to buy supplies. It put exercise, care and time spent together under one roof, with facilities designed around both animals and the people accompanying them.

There is an established history behind that approach. A June visit, described a two-level indoor park, with separate areas for larger and smaller dogs, alongside grooming rooms and a café. The upper floor also had space for birthday celebrations. Animal recreation and social occasions were already sharing the same address.

The beach plans therefore extend an existing idea into a different setting. Rather than starting with a conventional seaside attraction and adding a pet area, Zue brings an animal-focused business into the waterfront’s mix of recreation and hospitality.

Blajat’s changing role

The location gives the expansion a wider Kuwaiti context. When TEC inaugurated Al Blajat Beach in September 2023, its executive president described it as part of a plan to develop 10 kilometres of the country’s seafront.

The opening announcement carried by Kuwait Government Online identified restaurants, water-based attractions and a volleyball playground among the facilities. It also put the beach’s capacity at 3,000 visitors a day and described two access routes for people with disabilities.

Those figures relate to Blajat’s original development, rather than the capacity or scale of Zue’s project. They establish the setting into which the pet brand is moving: a waterfront being organised around several different reasons to visit.

That programme continued in June 2026, when TEC announced a summer season with KLand. The offering combined outdoor pools and water games with an air-conditioned indoor play area, interactive activities and sport.

Taken together, those developments show how the same coastal setting can accommodate different types of recreation. Zue’s proposed contribution introduces a distinct focus within that mix, with animals forming part of the visit itself.

Bringing animal care into the experience

The educational element also has roots in Zue’s existing activities. An earlier Zue Academy programme listed in Kuwait offered workshops for children aged 6 to 14 covering dog training, dog and cat grooming, and other aspects of the business.

The listing is historical, rather than a current timetable for the beach venue. Its relevance is the approach it documents: giving children an introduction to the work involved in caring for animals, alongside opportunities to meet them.

Zue’s own description of its business similarly places responsibility alongside enjoyment. Its stated aim includes helping owners understand what keeping an animal happy and healthy involves. In that context, the proposed academy at Blajat would carry an existing strand of the company’s activities into the new location.

The planned mix also distinguishes between different visitors. A dedicated dog park serves people bringing their own animals, while a cat lounge and interactive animal area offer a separate kind of encounter. Children’s play facilities and dining widen the intended audience beyond pet owners alone.

That distinction is central to the story. The concept brings together people whose starting points differ: caring for an animal of their own, introducing children to animals, or spending time with family members who want to take part.

From a specialist venue to the seafront

Moving from an indoor park to a combination of outdoor and indoor facilities changes the setting without removing the practical considerations that shaped Zue’s original business.

Its existing park emphasises air-conditioning, designated flooring and staff supervision. Those details help explain why an animal-focused venue involves more than permission to bring a pet through the door. Space, comfort and the way different activities are separated are part of the experience.

At Blajat, the proposed dedicated animal zones sit alongside the more familiar elements of a waterfront outing: food, play and gathering spaces. That is the project’s clearest departure from a straightforward branch expansion.

For Kuwait’s families, the question it raises is tangible: can spending time with animals become part of the same outing as a meal, a children’s activity or an afternoon by the sea? Zue’s plans put those activities at one address, taking a concept developed indoors in Al Rai into a new chapter on the Salmiya waterfront.
